There isn'tt a "none of the above" option on purpose - the only choices are the themes that already exist, we aren't going to code a new style from scratch.

Then you would be guessing wrong, there are at least 3 others atm - see http://www.vbulletin.com/en/themes.

I actually prefer the default vB5 theme. Very clean, good color combination, nice to look at and read text.

The first theme we will switch to as default is Blue Green.

At some point we my look at changing the default theme that vB5 uses.

To help with any decision, we have decided to take a couple of actions.
Over the next few weeks, we will set a different theme as the default on the vb.com forum, to give them exposure.

In addition, we have created a poll of the more popular themes to allow members to vote which they like best.
Note that you do not need to wait for the theme rotation to vote, if you already have a favourite then vote for it at any time.
