I hear a lot these days about people needeing web hosting...What if vBulletin offered this? To let's say only vB customers, and vBulletin provided everything you needed, the space, bandwidth, subdomains, etc etc...All the same stuff as a normal web host, but depending on how much it would cost to start all of this up, maybe vBulletin could go for a lower price? So not only would you get the vBulletin forum support you need, but also the web hosting support as well....It's just a random thought and more than likely isn't even possible, but it's still some food for thought perhaps later on down the road...
Just a random thought...

...just because the price of vBulletin would almost certainly be much higher...*shrug*--filburt1, vBulletin.org/vBulletinTemplates.com moderator

Not necessarily....If they start offering hosting, it would probably be seperate. Because a lot of people already have hosting and stuff so why would they say "If you buy vBulletin you must get the hosting with it"? That would'nt make sense and they'd also lose money if they tried to it. IF they do start offering hosting then it would probably be a seperate offer.Comment

Ofcourse it will be separate. If it wasn't, it would preclude existing customers from upgrading to the latest version of vBulletin and still keep their independence such as it is. Though, on the upside, if they were to force users, it would certainly put a serious dent in pirated uses. While that's good, I don't forsee vBulletin evolving into a hosted package only.Toddler from HellComment

True, they would have to be separate; for example, what if a company wanted to run a forum on their Intranet? They'd need to use their own server.--filburt1, vBulletin.org/vBulletinTemplates.com moderator
