    Quick Start Guide

Although it's great to have a full fledged manual online, there needs to be a quick start walk through guide that gets the site secured and functional. For example, just during the first 30 minutes after my site setup, I already had 12 users sign in and spam my site. I STILL haven't been able to figure out totally how to set an approval for new members.

I know you put a lot of hard work into this manual, but you have to remember that the "NEW" user who just purchased from you is TOTALLY blindsided with all the feature rich management that comes along with this site. Secondly, you have to remember that a lot of people purchase software like yours because they are only mediocre level web-developers, or in my case, worse.

Basically, its a lot to take on in a short period of time, and I believe that a quick start guide that walks a user through some sequential getting started steps to secure, setup and initially begin operating is crucial.

    In my humblest opinion....

This is something we're looking at including in future releases.

i couldn't have said this better myself, i consider myself pretty smart and quick to learn and have actually gone thru the settings page by page start to finish for instance. but i am still completely overwhelmed in figuring out what i need to decide and figure out before day 1 of my site going live and what is features that i can focus on later enriching my site once it is up and running and i get a feel for how my use interacts with your offerings.

it would be great to have things like:

      getting started walk thru
a must do checklist beofre day 1, (this could even be in your admin panel and actually get checked off as you go, so you could look there and see what you have left to do!!)
top things to do for security and spam prevention
most important setting choices that need to be made (maybe things where ther is no real default that works for most folks, that it really depends on the site
Big things to think about before you go to far, because changing them later would be a LOT harder
things to do before you let anyone register or post
any big choices about style and cosmetic appearance

top 10 extra things folks like to do to sites, or 10 things that folks most ask how to do

So The 64,000 dollar question is, is this the type of only going to to be built for v5?

          Q: When?
A: When it will be ready.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...
