Is there a way for me to set my preferences so that the activity feed does not display first by default when I visit the forums? Thanks!

You can book a different URL in your browser but there is no way to personally choose a tab in the settings here.
My bookmarks lead to /forum.php so that is what I see.Translations provided by Google.
