The idea of the forum is been re-evaluated. It was not meant to be a support center and that is what people were using it for. I'll be merging the threads in it back into appropriate forums and it will be closed. It was an interesting experience but did not result in people contributing their customizations to the community.Translations provided by Google.

Well if you open a customization forum in side a help section you can be assured that support questions end in that forum, hence i asked some time ago that help and customization would be split in different forums like so:
vBulletin 4
-vBulletin 4 Questions, Problems and Troubleshooting
-Tips
--vBulletin 4 Quick Tips and Customizations
--vBulletin 4 CMS Customization Zone
-The normal forums listed there etc etcLast edited by we_are_borg; Wed 11 Apr '12, 9:53am.Comment

The way you outlined it is exactly how it was setup...Translations provided by Google.

Sorry Wayne i messed up the example (i have corrected it) here is the correct one:
vBulletin 4
-vBulletin 4 Questions, Problems and Troubleshooting
-Tips
--vBulletin 4 Quick Tips and Customizations
--vBulletin 4 CMS Customization Zone
-The normal forums listed there etc etc
Tips is empty by it self.
Another issue is that vBulletin.com was not the place to ask for customization so maybe a notice to the people that in that forum people may post there customization but not ask so its share only forum.
I think the help section and customization forum can be a good contributor to the community but that would mean good moderation in those forums and clear instructions what you can and can't do. I would recommend something like this:
vBulletin 4
-vBulletin 4 Questions, Problems and Troubleshooting (normal stuff that has nothing to do with sections below go here)
--CMS
--Blog
--Social Groups
--Albums
--AdminCP
-vBulletin 4 Quick Tips and Customization's (normal stuff that has nothing to do with sections below go here)
--CMS
--Blog
--Social Groups
--Albums
--AdminCP
-vBulletin Mobile Suite
-vBulletin Facebook Apps
-vBulletin 4 Installations and Upgrades
-vBulletin Impex Import System
-vBulletin Support Ticket System
-vBulletin 4 Bug Tracker
I think this has a better change of succeeding, but it needs major TLC its not something that is build in 3 to 6 months. But success is depended of getting people to share and make them active in those forums. Later on maybe a request forum where people can request howto's, its all possible but it needs major attention and moderation.Comment

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind for the future. However right now, we're going to move forward with the current configuration.Translations provided by Google.

No problem, to be fair if you want to change this more is needed in the forum build up how long agonwas it that all the sections where updated. Dont forget vBulleitin grew bt the forums remained almost the same.Comment
