I had the same frustrating issue, as well. I changed the password three+ times, and kept getting the same on screen alert to change the password. This was with Google Chrome. Apparently folks with IE and Chrome get stuck in this loop.
I opened a support ticket with the info, explained what I had done, and they kept emailing me back with the link to change the pw
The solution I found myself: Change the PW, LOG OUT, then log back in with the new password That seems to clear the alert message, which was perhaps stuck in a cache or something. If you change it while logged in and then try to access the forums, it will block you with that prompt/link.
Best regards,

Now they have email addresses associated with Members Area. And they will try to log to Members Area with stolen info. Also they can try to crack your email account.

I am grateful for all of these notices for password resets and security. This, hopefully, becomes a trend with companies alerting everyone immediately of a 'potential' issue.
While vBulletin has always been pretty good with this, I was happy to see Adobe appearing to be pretty quick with their notice, and a few others.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to worry about such things, but it's good to know that vBulletin and other companies care more about users security than any assumed embarrassment from a breach.
Thank you.Comment

Question:
What data is Internet Brands collecting (name, address, billing, credit card, etc.), what is being stored, and where was it stored? Was any of those databases potentially accessed or could be accessed?ManagerJosh, Owner of 4 XenForo Licenses, 1 vBulletin Legacy License, 1 Internet Brands Suite License

I thought for a moment this was a joke:
"We have taken the precaution of resetting your account password"
And it certainly is. You didn't reset any password. You are asking people to reset their passwords. No one else noticed the difference?Comment

What I find disturbing from the hack and these emails, all 15 of them, is that the hackers have all our personal information from this database, including our email address. With all the strange things going on what makes you think these emails to change passwords is not from the hackers?Comment

As stated before, they hackers did not appear to target this, they were interested in vbulletin user data.Baby, I was born this wayComment

So we don't know this for sure? You are assuming they didn't? What assurances are there that this did not occur?Comment
