How can so many people have so different experiences when visiting the same site? I mean, even if speed issues are server related, we all should experience those issues, right? Or wrong?

I guess those SSD drives the server uses suck for performance.... In regards to traffic, how much traffic do you think this server has? Surely not as much as the vB3 days....

Just to clarify something, vb.com does not run on one server.

The IB network is also quite complicated, not just a case of a box plugged directly into the internet.

Speaking purely personally, I now rarely experience speed issues on this site. Could it be faster? Certainly. But for me, the days of long load times vanished with 5.0.4. I now there's still a big focus on performance though.

This is the first time New Topics has worked for me at all in a while. I surprised when it worked and took less than ten seconds.
            Hmmm. Cheese.

Living in China and loading within 5 to 8 seconds...Much better than before but slower than some other sites I use....vB.org, TAZ for instance.

3-4 seconds load time for me, only very rarely it takes longer. I think this is still too slow, but I am sure more optimization will be done in future releases. And gladly the current state isn't anywhere near beta/early release times anymore.

I'd be very interested to hear how anyone is getting the New Threads page to load in less then 10 seconds, or even 30 seconds. I've tested this on my work network as well as at home.
I have high speed internet at both locations. It's taking 1 minute and 20 seconds to load today.
Definitely not getting better on my end.

Also why aren't my post staying formatted, line breaks aren't sticking once I hit submit.
Another annoying thing about this flagship product.

I'll see if editing this post will help them "stick".

IB hired a team of Javascript programmers who are trying, through brute force, to make PHP and MySQL do everything in a Javascript way.

How is it that most the staff get the pages to load quick, yet myself and a few others who have spoken up in this thread have to wait 10 and 20 times as long? This is the link I'm talking about, is that the same thing you clicked Yves Rigaud?

jesus.. that formatting is so annoying.. I'll just leave the post above, let everyone else see how ugly the post looks even though there was a line break before my image as well as after my first sentence when I first posted it.

Making the user edit each post is not intuitive at all..

The same link. I retried, same result.
