We are aware the search is taking a long time and it may result in a time-out error or blank page and we are working on it. This is due to unique conditions on our server and in general the VB5 search does work on other sites.

In the mean time you can use Google to search vBulletin.com threads by going to google and entering your search term followed by- site:vbulletin.com

    Example:

    Code:
    gingerale site:vbulletin.com
would return only results from vBulletin.com that talk about gingerale. (Not sure there are any, just an example.)

      What're the unique conditions?

I assume you don't just mean the fact it's a moderately busy site with a large database compared to the other people who've converted their sites to VB5?

The search index is still being rebuilt atm, its quite a long process on a big forum, and we lost a load of it when the drive failed at the weekend.

The process was put on hold while we were running on the slave only. Its runing again now.
