I'm sure you guys get this every 9.35 minutes - but I just have to ask since I'm in the middle of reconfiguring our site. Please forward this if it is in the wrong place...
We've been using vBulletin since December 2000 - so we've gone through a couple of versions with you guys. Our site (http://www.EricsonYachts.org/infoexchange) has about 300-400 items that our 6,000 members like to download (yacht owner manuals, reviews, engine manuals, etc, etc). So, two years ago, I added the LDM hack - Links & Download Manager by AndrewD - a developer in Scotland (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=231407). We've been really happy with it - until last year.
As I'm sure you are aware of this product, and Andrew, of his great development skills, and his untimely passing last year. So, perhaps you are (or are not) aware that many, MANY of your users are seeking some download/document management capability - and are stressed because the LDM product is dead in the water now, drifting...
Now that Andrew has passed, I hope that you guys will seriously consider incorporating part/all of his product into the vBulletin product. It would be a great addition to an already outstanding product - and with the great support and development team you have, I think it would result in a real winner. Please consider doing this.
Oh - and if you are considering it, could you please let me know (privately or otherwise)? I'm trying to decide what to do about our download situation now that I'm on 4.1.3 - and if you were looking at LDM, I would happily incorporate the last version of it in anticipation of your new version....
Thanks much - great product - you have no idea how many people I have recommended to utilize Jelsoft's work over the last ten years....
