I don't like it, it's been squeeshed togther and stretched vertically and has some sort of beginners gradient put on for no good reason. why doesn't it line up with the edge of the home button? or why does the home button have such a big gap the left? And there's hardly any top margin but a decent on to the bottom. Also a bit blurry.

On a second view, the new logo isn't too bad.
It may be worth an idea to run a vBulletin logo contest, I'm sure they get more pleasant results and people have some fun during the time they are getting the editor right.

I would not oppose that idea, but there are some legal issues around it - I think - because it is trademarked, as well as we would not be able to change the logo entirely. So, in essence it's more of a gradient + effects game

Anders, the new logo isn't that bad except the aliases. Take a bigger version of it, apply some antialiasing, then resize it (shrink). It'd look much better then.
