    Other people's signature length

Some people have dial up, some people even pay their ISPs by the amount of time they spend online.

With some of the signatures here that are 25 lines long full of advertisments, that can lead to a lot of load time, and costly ISP bills.

Is there a possibility that signatures can be limited in size?

      That's a logical response.

      But can't people excercise restraint?

I'm usering a hack found on vBulletin.org which allows you to limit the signature to a specific number of lines.

Unfortunately, if does not stop people writing loads and just wraps the text round and round...

Also, signatures can be a great way to network with other people with like interests.

Must I block out everyone in order to do away with the select few that abuse this?

Wonder if this could be given some consideration?

So I am to go without every single users signatures in order to block the very few that abuse?

One thing you can do is create a new usergroup called 'Sig Abusers' which has 'Can modify profile?' set to 'No'. Then mocve any abusers you have into this group and modify or remove their sig. It's not ideal, but it'll work.

I'm talking about people here at vbulletin.com.

Some sigs here are insane. Tons of advertisements and the like.

I don't want to disable all people's sigs because I've met a few good contacts that share the same interests.

Oh, sorry. I know what you mean about some of the sigs.

I mean, that's basic netiquette that goes as far back as the start of Usenet.

Never mind a website loading with graphics.

                      Is this an unreasonable request?

Oops, sorry again. I meant 'I don't believe so.' My only excuse is that it's past my bedtime and I am dead tired.
