Facebook and Twitter mirror the supporting of China, as we all run and buy all the cheap child labor junk made there, what are we doing to our home and communities. Seems like a good deal as we all run like sheep but at what price? We are loosing mass in every way. Its the demise of the USA and more...I see this the same way with those two social giants and it scares me.

I don't get it. I see why you posted that announcement, but I truly don't see it as a good thing for vbulletin communities. You are speeding up fragmentation to say the least. And I don't think its stoppable.

I'm taking a wild guess, but I think a few people on here are also on Twitter and Facebook, and might want to follow them on those sites as well.

Forums and social networks are not mutually exclusive, and they can definitely be used constructively. I'm not a big fan of either myself, but I understand that there are many opportunities to leverage them to promote your site, brand, and product.

Sure, some forum communities may have something to be concerned about, but in this case you're overreacting.

These days, if you offer a product--any product--or have a brand to promote, you almost by default have to have some sort of social networking presence.

Actually to add, what I am really seeing is vbulletin needing more money for the next campaign cash run at the expense of their future. Back to my China parallel. More and more people are buying China crap and more and more people are unemployed here.
