    vb.com,vb.org off for 3 hours?

I thought that they will never come back...

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

There doesn't seem to be an announcement anywhere? Anyone else seen one?

I'd imagine it's the middle of the night where they are based, chances are the forum staff aren't aware anything happened.

It was a problem connecting the the MySQL server, that much was in the source of the error (as vB admins we surely all know to view the source of database errors?)

The VB Forum staff are scattered all over the world. It wasn't the middle of the night for all of them.

Unoptimized queries? Server hamsters on strike? Software straining against legacy code?

For anyone who didn't notice the "..." up there, I've slightly edited Mark.B's quote for the purposes of levity. Despite this notice, I'm sure someone will take my comments way too seriously.

As was mentioned, this was due to a MySQL issue, possibly to do with the tmp drive being full.
We're also aware that the tracker is unreachable and we're working on fixing that as fast as we can.

But this one spent all morning in the car so wasn't around to raise it...

Did you guys use a older backup?

Seems like some of my posts disappeared and a member I PM'ed didn't get my msg before the place went down.

Same with vBorg. Prior to it I clicked uninstall for a few old mods. Now I look and it shows I still have them installed.

So I assume you used a backup?

Well I have a few recent posts missing. And I can't see why someone would delete them. They had nothing bad in it at all.

The one I recalled, I thanked someone for something. And that post is gone now.

Close but I made a posts in the profile contest. It looks like it's gone unless someone deleted it. Once again, I didn't post anything bad. I basically gave congrads to all participants.
