I would expect that such negotiations only were known by the upper management and the staff was informed after the deal was finalized.

Geez some of the comments in here are a bit harsh.
          Where's the loyalty gone
I really don't know if you want to get people started on that one.

Long story short, I would say people are smart about loyalty. Only be loyal to those that are loyal to you.

More loyalty there than there is here.

Though loyalty has no place in business anyway.

                  • Loco.M, you should know better than to ramp up a potential argument in this thread.

Well, we'll see it before the end of 2010, hopefully.

Should that change at all, communication will be forthcoming, and bear in mind, this is all pending the transaction to be approved by our shareholders and clears regulatory processes
to quote bob brisco himself from his blog:

"Without a doubt, we would miss many of the friends we have made along the way. INET will miss the brilliant, 11-year Chairmanship of Howard Morgan. (While we will lose a great Chairman, we retain a great friend.) We will miss the support and inspiration from all of our friends at Idealab, from Bill Gross, and from our terrific Board of Directors. We will miss some of the loyal shareholder relationships we have developed."

I really hope that going private again will help vBulletin, and I hope the right people that know what vBulletin is, will help move it forward. While it might be to late for me to have any trust or loyalty left, it would be a shame to see more change for the worse, rather than this acquisition being for the better. I still have enough friends who run vB that at the moment aren't considering moving along due to the heavy investment into the product. And i am hoping the posting experience on their sites will improve, rather than degrade *again*.

                              • Floris, changes to our shareholders, and the Board of Directors that represent them does not have a direct impact on vBulletin's development or policies, nor does it have a direct impact on vBulletin staffing, so I stand by my original statement.
