Cant upload avatar through URL

    Cant upload avatar through URL

    Hi,

    I tried to upload a new avatar on vb.com through a URL but it wouldnt allow me to and gave me this error. :



    I was able to upload one from my computer though.

    You might want to try a search on "temporary file"

      Thanks for the link and probable cause Lynne, but I am not facing this problem on my site. I am facing this problem on your site http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/

          as to the OP try saving the image to your desktop and then uploading it that way

            I can understand that the fonts on this forum are very small and difficult to see, but if you read my original post again you will find that I have mentioned that I was able to upload an avatar from my computer but not an URL.

            I just wanted to inform this to the vb.com staff because this forum is a showpiece of the vbulletin software and a error such as this creates a bad impression.

                We're looking in to it. Since the server upgrade we must have missed configuring the tmp directory properly.

                    What did you do to fix this?

                    As I noticed my forum has the same issue, when inserting images from URLs into posts.

                        Its a php configuration issue - you need to correctly set the temp dir in php.ini.
