When you will upgrade to vB 4.0.1

    Hello,

Just curious: when you have planned to upgrade vBulletin.com forums to vB 4.0.1? This has been released yesterday but vB.com is still running vB 4.0.0.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

We're possibly already running 4.0.1 without the number change, if we haven't upgraded we'll upgrade soon

They're probably letting all of us suckers test it for them - vb 4.0.1 broke more stuff than it fixed.

They're forums aren't like ours. For them to upgrade they just have to sync it up with their SVN Repository, and they probably have a dedicated repository for these forums, that is independent of the main trunk.

And because there were no database changes in 4.0.1, it's not absolutely necessary for them to run the upgrade script, seeing as all it'll basically do is update the version number and apply template changes.

So, in short, they could very well be running 4.0.1 code, even though the version number is still at 4.0.0.

Ryan, I understand what you say however vBulletin.com forums are still running vB 4.0.0

It's simple: bugs that are fixed on 4.0.1 are still present on vB.com forums.

Warning! Don't Bother To Upgrade Yet!

....you will only have more headache...especially to your modified board with lot of addons...my advice is read everywhere at first for more error, bugs and new mess for this new version....

                  just a friendly advice only...

I wish I held off upgrading. Of course, gold releases in the past haven't been crappy bloatware, either.

Everyone should feel better now because vb.com is now running their own buggy software. YAY!
s.molinari - I would like to ask all customers to definitely feedback issues with the software and be specific with the issues, but to basically suck-up what happened in the past and try to just look forward.
