Increase minimum characters for a post

Is there any chance the minimum number of characters in a post could be increased.

I'm growing increasingly tired of going into threads that ostensibly have new replies, only to find numerous posts consisting of "+1" and nothing else.

Once or twice it's a minor irritation, but entire threads are now populated with this stupid chatroom-style rubbish. You would seldom believe that almost everyone here supposedly admins a forum.

Increasing the minimum character count would force these people to at least state their own opinion instead of cluttering up the site with inane teenage chatspeak!

15 is a good round number and let site admins change it from there if they wish.


we should have a poll on this and MAYBE just MAYBE it can be implimented by 4.0.3 ?

My understanding was that the request was to change it on this site, not on new installations of vBulletin. I doubt the default value in vBulletin will be changed.

just made a test on my site and the limit is at 10.

nothing as long as that does not count twards post count.


i would dispise seeing someone with 10,000 posts all with + 1 as the only thing posted ya know.
