Why were vB.com and .org down earlier?

They were unavailable for a few hours or so, any real reason for this?

I would guess that it was a DDoS attack just like the last few times.

Is the attack still ongoing? The whole site sure feels slow for the last day.
Also, check this route to www.vbulletin.com, especially the jump in response times on the last hop:

sorry guys, but you're far from it... it is not slow, they are testing the new "Miserable Users" they want to implement to 4.0... they tagged all the users who posted rants about IB from the last months, and we're all miserable for the last 2 days.
oh no, i'm not going with Xenforo... come on, i'm better than that... i stick with Wordpress... rofl

Suggestion: You may want to explore ddos detection and mitigation services. Verizon Business has a top of the line product.

The site is also slow on my end.

                        LMAO!
That is too funny - I would have expected me on the Miserable Users list - or at least on the .org one - but you Nexy? Naw. No way!

                        hahahaha

Extremely fast both vb.com and vb.org.

I guess it depends where your based and how close to the vB.com servers you are. For me things are not as bad now, but I've pretty much found the site impossibe to load and use for the past 24 hours.

The site is still not back to it's normal speeds for me, so I'm presuming they are still getting hit, but much less now. It's taking around 10 seconds to save a post and post the reply.
