problem with the site domain

Hey guys,
I got a problem with your site domain.
When ever I go to http://www.vbulletin.com/ I get this error:

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

Cannot find server or DNS Error

And when ever I go to your IP (http://161.58.84.213) I get the site / forums.

I already asked every one I know how to solve it, and they didn't know.
So I'm giving it a try here. =/

I use internet explorer and netscape on win2k.

Umm it could be a DNS problem with ur ISP, but thats not to likely.

Start up your internet and then go to Tool>Internet Options. THen click on the Security Tab. Then set your security level to either LOW or Medium-LOW.

Maybe try clearing your cookies while your there..

Or you could not worry about DNS and fix the problem yourself.

In your Windows Directory there is a file called hosts.sam.

If you add the following two lines to the bottom of that file you can access vBulletin.com without DNS and without having to remember the IP address.

161.58.84.213   [url]www.vbulletin.com[/url]
161.58.84.213   vbulletin.com

Or you could do something like:
[code]
161.58.84.213 vbforums
[code]

Put as many sites as you want in there. Lookup and loading will be a little faster because you can bypass DNS and access the sites directly.

I am sure there is an equivalent in both the Linux and Macintosh OSes as well.

wluke, Thanks alot. You simply solved my problem.

In this dir:
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc
I had a file named:
"hosts"

And the ip of this site was the wrong ip. a simple delete of this line did the work perfectly.
