That was never an option, even before this change.

This has been noted. Thank you.

To me, it wasn't a huge deal. I don't have my password memorized, due to the fact that it's a random combination of letters and numbers.

All it required was re-entering my new password in my password manager and boom, saved. Better safe than sorry, I guess. I probably wouldn't have noticed until Beta 5 was released, as I hardly ever access the Members' Area.

A password code routine should be used instead to ensure that dictionary words are not used in the new password, along with requiring X amount of non-alpha characters, rather than preventing the changing of the PW at all.

34 years old according to his profile. Anyway, age is just a state of mind, don't you think?
You're spending millions of dollars on a website?!

While I have no problem with the changed e-mail, or the inability to change said password (never could, who cares)... I am a bit disappointed in the lack of notice. It's really messed me up. My e-mail was a dead one (forgot I hadn't changed it).

Hopefully "owner" gets response and new e-mail soon. *sigh*

I don't agree with what they did. I cannot access the members area to update to the new beta.

A while back, we tried to change the email on the account. But that was a fisaco.

The owner of the site I run, can be out of touch for months at a time. Which is why I he added me here for support.

So when 3.7.0 goes gold. I will still be on a buggy beta version because I cannot get into the account I have been using for years.

? That is a risk you take if you decide to use Beta. If you have an absentee Owner, then that is how much they really care about running a site. The owner should have a system if they are away to have a prepaid 'Professional Upgrade', then vBulletin Staff would just upgrade site to be secured or maybe a system just to add patches if the owner is away.

I didn't expect to be locked out of an account I had access to.

You would need to contact the owner to let you have access to email address and make sure that vBulletin knows who is the true owner... Incase things do not agree in a later date.

Thats one problem. He also doesn't have access to the old email. I remember it was such a pain to request a change.

So we never changed it. And in all these years we never had to. My email is on the support account and I pay for renewal under it. I guess they don't mind someone other than the owner to give them money.

I don't understand why you can't change your email once you log into the members area.

In the near future I will need to change my email, as I am going to another isp and hope I will be able to or I will be in a pickle... I am going into support and see if I am allowed to do this now instead of waiting down the road.
