Quick edit still hanging up on vBulletin

I just tried to run a quick edit on this forum and it hung up and I had to go to "advanced" to get the post up.

Is there a way to disable quick edit in the user CP ??

On all my vB forums I have had this problem so I eliminated quick edit as an option on my forums.

Why is vB still having this long time ongoing problem and what are the developers doing about it ??

This is an end-user problem actually. I don't experience hanging up on the quick-edit form and I don't think any other the other staff are either. Quick Edit still has to communicate with the web-server and it seems your browser isn't handling that properly if you can't use quick-edit on any vBulletin forum. What browser are you using?

I face this problem alot. I'm using IE6. In order to fix this, I've to keep clicking 'Save' or clicking 'Go advanced'.

The latest and greatest IE 7 Sir

I have disabled this on all my forums, no quick edit is available because of this, I don't want my users to face this time consuming and very frustrating problem, so vB needs to address this since it has been going on for a year or so.

I never experience this though and am also using IE7 as my primary browser.

You can report it as a bug but it seems to be very limited on who it affects which suggests networking issues.

I sometimes get this when replying / editing a post via ajax - I have to click the button again (and again) for it to work. I guess the communication in the background failed for some reason, and re-clicking the button makes it try again.

You have to click go advanced to get it to post, I have disabled quick edit to eliminate this problem, but I have to put up with it on other forums I post on.

hmm I get this sometimes too.. here and there.. I think it depends on the server load... atleast that's why I think it hangs..

So until it works properly, all forums should disable it to end the annoyance for forum users !!!

Never had a complaint here. Why would I disable something that noone has reported a problem with?

IE7 is evil. There's no denying that it's riddled with small bugs which can affect your experience severly.
I've had such hangups sometimes, in that I too have to hit 'save' a couple of times, but it's nothing major.
There are other IE7-bugs which are far more severe.

Dilly, read the thread over, many have reported this problem in the very thread.

It has been going on for at least a year now !!!

The problem you face is that most people never take the time to report a problem, even when it exists, this is an ongoing one that has been happening for at least a year on vB forums worldwide.

I've never had a problem either.

Without us being able to reproduce it we can't fix it.

If you could give us more information about how to either reproduce it or conditions under which it happens then there is maybe something we can do.
