How long does it take for you to upload the "upload......

Just wondering how long does it take to upload vBulletin?

    Like Uploading the "upload" file.

I just need to know because I am uploading that file now, and I need to see how long it takes, because I am using Internet Explorer FTP, and the estimate thingy keeps going from 30 Minutes and then jumping to 1 Hour & 32 Minutes and back and forth, and it once went close to 3 Hours.

Have you considered using an actual FTP program, such as SmartFTP, CuteFTP, etc.? Might make things alot faster and easier than using IE FTP (I didn't even know about that).

Well To be honest, I don't really upload things this is probably the 3rd time I have used IE ftp. So it doesn't matter. But I am interested in these "ftp" programs.

Its only a trail, and it only last 30 days, is there some thing else that is tottaly free no trails or anything.

It's free and unlimited; the trial pops up at the end of 30 days to entice people to purchase it, but it's actually free to use well beyond 30 days Just clicking "okay" and you'll still be able to use the program.

FlashFXP is cheap One time fee for every future version. That's what I purchased. And it is very good. Never had problems uploading vB files.

What is your ISP upstream connection, I can't see how it takes an hour.

I have a 20/2mbit connection and that means I have 240kilobyte/sec upstream and the unpacked 1.9mb 3.5.4 .zip file takes under 5 minutes to upload to either the NL, UK, or US.

In these situations where dailup is an issue I recommend to use a) a good FTP program and b) uplaod the 1.9mb compressed .zip file and unpack it on the server through SSH.
