  • Future of Project Tools?

I am confused as to what will happen with it.

I see great potential for PT on our site and am willing to acquire/purchase it but, admidst all confusion on whether it will still be supported and further developed, I am equally unsure whether I should keep my hopes up.

Could anyone tell me where to go to get it?

After they release it for vB4.0 it is going open-source at vbulletin.org see my save project tools thread, as I would prefer it keep been Officially supported as eventually my site will be comercial and will be used for game bugs etc.

So for current 4.x users it's a matter of waiting before release at vb.org?

I'd love to integrate this tool in my current site now - waiting eagerly for it's release or any version I can download/acquire/purchase now to make a start at least.

I've purchased PT some time ago... and would like to know whether can we have an official response from a vBulletin staff member please, when PT will be available at vbulletin.org? Thank you.

There is no date at the moment as all developer resource is concentrated on vB4.

Once we have a date, this will be communicated via the Announcements Forum
            Vote for:

            - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
            -
*PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
            - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
            - Highlight the correct navigation tab when you are on a custom page
            - "Quick Route" Interface...
            - Allow to use custom icons for individual forums

So it's already a dead project before it even launched?

We are coming up to March now three months after vb4 was launched, been patient all this time and still no project tools. Would all of us have bought vb4 if we were told that project tools wouldn't work. I am going to have to think if my future web software will be vbulletin, if not ask for my money back. What annoys me most is project tools works on this site, so why not release it as a unsupported beta so we can finally use what we have paid for?

I agree. I understand that you're concentrating on 4.0.x but as it works here please could you just release it as a beta?

I'm mean absolutely no offence here but it can't be anywhere near as bug ridden as 4.0.x is.

I was waiting for VB4 before I purchased project tools, was very disappointed when I heard it was being discontinued. I would gladly purchase it now to have access to it.

My forum also depends a lot on Project Tools, we are waiting for Project Tools to work with vBulletin 4 before upgrading from vBulletin 3. Seeing that Project Tools runs fine (except that it's using old template) here on vbulletin.com, why can't you release an unsupported version of that so we can use it until you release it on vBulletin.org? I hope to see some progress on this, it's quite disappointing to see that you are dropping this product. I understand that it wasn't bought by so many customers, and that Project Tools might not really be a priority for you but a status update on how it is going would be good so we know if we should try to hack it to work with vBulletin 4 or wait for a release.

I too am waiting on a release of Project Tools for 4.0. I can't use vBulletin 4.0 (Which I've already paid for) until Project Tools is released for vB 4.0.

I paid for it back in vB3.8, and I'm waiting for it to be supported in vB4. What's more is that it's now going free; I paid for it, so I'm feeling pretty bummed-off. This open-sourcing movement had better bring some improvements in the long run...
