    Chat Room?

Hello - Got a greeny here.
I've had my board for about 2 months and have kept everything pretty simple. Working and learning with what vB gave me.

Anyway, I've had a few request for a chat room. This is something I want to keep simple too. Right now my board is small and if it got used, it would not be very much, maybe. Is there something already here or do I need to go get one?

I will also need some help with installing it. But, one thing at a time.

    Thanks!

There is no stock chat room for vbulletin by default.

There used to be one ages ago for vB3 advertised on vB.org. I installed and used it back then and it was quite good, had it faults but still was quite good though.

Not sure what happened with it.

        java applet = pjirc.com example: http://vbirc.com/chat
        java script = mibbit.com example: http://vbirc.com/chat/mibbit.html

Both can be integrated with vBulletin using a plugin.

Personally, I don't think any chat system that requires you to install Java to use it is a good choice to go with. Many people (including myself) don't like to install java from sites like Sun Microsystems.

This has always been the biggest single downfall with Java based chat systems.

            Hence the mibbit alternative.

I've used Flashchat in the past and it worked very well. Integrates with vB too.

I too but my members lost interest in it so I removed it.

I'm not using it now either, but it is a very good solution if someone wants an integrated chat room.
