  • Query about the conversion of the database encoding to Utf-8

    Hello.

I would like to convert the database encoding from latin1 to utf-8

I Use for this process "vCC 2.0 beta 3 released"

    http://www.vcharset.com/vcc-2-beta-3-released-pid22.html

, But the problem is that the process was not completed and stopped at the table Datastore

and This picture shows state the table before the start of conversion

What can I do at this time?

    What the better encoding , latin1 or utf-8 ?

For bugs with that third-party script you need to discuss them with the author.

There isn't a better encoding... You would need to choose the one that fits your needs best. If you use multiple byte languages on your site then UTF-8 might be the best choice. If you are using primarily Western European languages than Latin1 is the best. Each and every situation would have its own answer.
