Status variables

I have a question in the Project Tools templates.

I would like to add the $issue[categorytitle] or perhaps any of the items in the Status area next to the $issue[title] within the pt_issuebit template. When I put the variable there, nothing displays.

How can I get any of the Status items to display next to the title?

I am not aware of any variable for this. It may require modifying the code. Sorry.

The variable already exists. Im asking how I can move that variable to another template because when I do, it wont display. Is there something specific I should be perhaps changing in the variable?

Similar to how you have a slight difference when you display in a memberinfo vs postbit for the same information.

I have attached two screenshots. The info i placed the red box on, I want what you see in the status section, to appear in the thread title.

The reason is that it would make the categories more valuable when scanning the tasks.

As I said I do not know of any way to do this without modifying the code. Not all variables can be used in all templates. If I knew the answer I would certainly not keep it from you.

The VB.org community has so little information on this plugin and there isn't a whole lot around here either. I just don't know where to begin to figure this out and it seems like something that should be default like the status and priority is.

I just don't think that variable is prepared for display on that page. I can't look at the code as I have to leave for a flight in about 5 minutes, but you might be able to access it in a very roundabout way. I'll try to look into it later.

I haven't tested this, but you might be able to refer to this in a template:

{$vbulletin->pt_categories[$issue[projectcategoryid]][title]}

(Yes, with the {...}.)

Though if something has an unknown category, that likely won't work, so you might need to do the whole thing in an <if>.

Things like milestones or addressed versions may have similar workarounds, though sometimes that might not be an option. You may have to specifically query the data you want -- take a look at class_pt_issuelist.php.

OH your a genius! That actually works. Thank you so much. This ability opens up so many more possibilites with this tool.

Ok one more Please. I attempted many combinations to also display the user assigned and had no luck. Im not a PHP coder, but I can find patterns. I just dont see one between category and assigned user. I would like to add this to the columns as well.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to get assignment information without more querying. Assignments aren't 1-to-1 with an issue; more than one person can be assigned to it.

Yes I just noticed that you can assign multiple members which I could see being a huge problem in a column. Thanks for the help with this, the category help is a blessing. thanks.
