Question about default blog theme/ layout

I just installed vBlog, though the default frontpage layout differs from vBulletin's own blog frontpage. Is this because VB has customized the layout, or is it available as an prebuilt option in the distributed package as well? The former layout just looks more like a blog than the distributed version's.

Which former layout? BTW: This is the front page without a parameter.
