I can understand that, but putting SEO aside entirely , are VB going to at least make the users blog home page URL resemble something that wasn't written by a Dalek?
Is a pretty darn fugly URL for something that represents somebodies home page no ?
Surely you brainy folk can manage

i posted this into one of the suggestions but i thought it'd probably get over looked there so:
If you want that link SEO'd you can do it like this:
Code:Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule blog/(.*)/$ /forum/blog.php?username=$1

Rewrite works but I cannot see the images -
Since I don't have a forum subdirectory - but a second level domain ( my.lifeinitaly.com is where the forum is )
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule blog/(.*)/$ /blog.php?username=$1
This works
Thisshows the missing images and the link url that are incorrect
Thanks

Try this:
Code:RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^\blog/?(.*)$ blog.php?u=$1 [L]
I've also found a way to make this work for profiles: I posted that here on Vb.orgLast edited by CallieJo; Sun 23 Dec '07, 5:13pm. Reason: because I found a solution for myself and maybe others....Comment

vBSEO is currently testing SEO'd blog url's. It will be released with the next version update. Thats why i advise you to wait for that. You can see it on action @ http://www.vbseo.com/blogs/Comment

I have someone who's made the blog URL 'SEOed' on my forum, with this format:
http://domain.com/forumdirectory/blog-[username]
I'll ask them if I can post the .htaccess content on vBulletin.org as either a modification or article.Comment
