Sorry, that link doesn't seem to work. Has anybody else got a working version of lite?

vB lite is free,
as long as you have a web server that supports PHP and you have one mysql database you can use with that .. you can just download and try to install it. If you run into any problems during installation, please try to find a thread here that might have a fix, or request help.

Why do you need an installed vB lite version for ?

My guess is that he's only trying to see what does the lite version look like. Dunno

Yep,
and to see what features it has! I can't find a detailed description of it! I've just been to Cunka's site and still have a few questions. I'm new to web site management and wanted to use a simple version, but not too simple! :) I need to be able to control who posts and have different sub levels.

vB lite is a free version,
and it is this way, just so you can see if it would install on your web server, so you can safely purchase the full version (see my sig) .. the lite version doesn't have any features at all, because it doesn't need the features in order to see if it would run.

The forum you browse NOW, is how it would look and feel. The same colours, the same features.

You can also just do the Admin Demo (vbulletin.com) (live!) to get a nice feel of the back end on how to control the full featured version.

I wanted a BB to run in conjunction with my web site, I'd hoped that the lite version would get me by until I can afford to upgrade. There are other free BB's available but I prefer vbulletin. I am a member of www.performanceforums.com and they seem to have no trouble with the software.

The vB lite isn't really meant as an alternative to the none-free version.

The version they use is 2.2.3 (full version) and not the vB lite version.

I understand www.performanceforums.com use the full version, which is my reason for eventually wanting that version myself. I hoped that lite might be a realistic interim measure. The forum is not the main reason for my website, more a message board attached to it! I'm trying to spend money on those things that offer an immediate return!
