mass editing of one users posts after account hack

    Hi Guys,

one of our members got his account compromised and everyone of his posts now has:

    --------
(Unwanted url link) - * I wont post real link as probably harmful, alot of cannibis, vaporiser and strangely motor vehicle wiki links*

now we don't want to / cant delete all his posts as the content in the is too valuable to the threads hes posted in, so i was wondering if there's a way to mass edit a single users posts to remove certain text / urls?

Hope someone can help, so far searching has not yielded any ideas

    Run this query:

UPDATE post SET pagetext = REPLACE(pagetext, 'text to be removed', '')

Before you run the query you will want to do a backup.

Are you sure it was his posts that were edited and not his signature that was changed to have the unwanted link?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Sounds more like his signature got changed rather than all his posts.

LOL, Seems Lynne beat me to it.
