      I haven't offered a solution!

I'm waiting for people who know more than me for their opinions.

A developer is looking at this in conjunction with a customer.

If there's a fix that can be posted then it will.

I had another subscription go through last night without any errors. That makes it the third in a row since Feb 1st without errors but I have not applied any 'fixes' or done anything at all to change anything.

I just wonder if the problem might have been at the Paypal end and the penny has finally dropped that all the warnings they were sending out was actually a problem with their system which they have now quietly fixed. Is anyone still getting these errors and any more warning notices?

I just got one of these messages this morning. Nothing like getting a threatening note from a company that refuses to tell you how to fix the problem.

Doing Paid Subscriptions > Test Communication shows everything as working just fine with PP. I'm on 3.8.4, BTW. Would it be an option to just turn off IPN with PP?

In the meantime, I altered my IPN settings with PP per the suggestion above (http://www.sitename.com/forumdirecto...?method=paypal). Hopefully that'll work.

I think I may have another piece to add here

VB has been logging ANY paypal transactions in the VB logs - I have hundreds of "failures" and have for years. ( i reported or asked about the failures in previous posts ) ANY transaction onthat Paypal account is some how sent to the VB interface

I just started getting these same EMail notices about errors and in the paypal IPN history, I see a failure related to the VB url - the problem is that there is no connection between the transaction that is causing the error and the VB install.

                  From the Paypal IPN history
                  Code:
                  [B]Instant Payment Notification (IPN) details[/B]

this transaction is not related to the VB forum install - yet its generating 13 IPN errors so far

PS the transaction that this error refers to is completed - has been for days

                  Hope this detail helps ...

A modern website can contain the following types of content: text, images, audio and video. However, at the dawn of the Internet, bandwidth was limited

The question is WHY is VB and IPN even involved in the transaction ?

DO I need to have a dedicated Paypal account JUST for VB ?

I get 2-3 paid subscriptions a day, and even after doing the fix of putting in the VB url, it started failing. So we are back again with vbulletin not receiving the confirmations, and will again enable the ipn, however doing this every 5 days is a bit of a hassle. I will add the link again. But really I don't think that this is a Paypal issue, they provide a api, it looks to be a vbulletin issue in how it communicates with paypal. So all in all I really would like to see a fix.
As well as a decent spam filtering on PM's since that is now a major source of spam on my forum. If I could help vbulletin let me know, but we need a fix for these issues.

Anything new on this? I just received my first one of these PayPal notices this morning. We're still using 3.7+ for now and would like to know if there's an ETA on a fix for this? I don't get many subscriptions and can't afford to lose the few I do get.

Actually I'm surprised not to find more people having this issue but perhaps there hasn't been enough time for it to really cause an impact?
