I recently deleted many old attachments (I haven't cleaned them up ever - it's been years) but now users are complaining that images useful for reference disappeared. Many attachments have no long-term usefullness, but others do.
I wish there was some way of viewing attachments by something more meaningful than age and size. It would be uber helpful if attachments could be viewed in the context of their original post, so an intelligent decision can be made re: keeping or dumping the file, rather than doing so based on it's size or age only. This can't be done, can it?
Or maybe I could have a mod review old posts, and remove attachments from threads that have no long-term usefulness as reference materials, right at the post rather than via the admin.
Am I dreaming? Is this possible and I overlooked it? Is it an upcoming feature of a future version?
