is there a technical (cookie issue?) reason why the admin forum password and admincp password need to be the same ? wouldn't it be even more secure to have two different passwords for admin and admin/cp ?

You can use an htaccess to further secure the admincp, ontop of your normal password. -

you still don't want to engage, huh ?
i don't want specific code related to vbulletin - is that what you thought ?
i am asking from a technical point of view. do you not think having two separate passwords would be safer ? i would assume yes. so then why is it not so ? i must assume some technical reason. what is it ? (it's not related to vb, i know other similar security checks use one password for two "doors") so answer in general terms.Comment

Why would you want two different passwords, Suiram?
I'm with Zackery on this. These guys know why we have the one password to get into our accounts.
You just have to make your password something that nobody else knows so that it is harder for other people to guess.
No point arguing the case with one of the members of the vB team. Just accept what they say. They know more than what you do.Aussiefootyforums

There is currently no technical reason, if you want to ask for it to be implimented this is the wrong way to go about it and also in the wrong forum.Comment
