        You can't upgrade from 3.7.4 to 3.7.4. Let's me rephrase the question.

        Before you upgraded, what version were you running instead?

              same problem here. 3.7.3 to 3.7.4

              I followed the upgrade instructions. Once I replaced the config file I get a database error.

              please help.

              UPDATE : I now replaced the new config file with the old from my 3.7.3 download and the site is back online.

                You can use the same config.php from earlier 3.7.x version on 3.7.4

                    As per our upgrade instructions, you always make a backup of the database and the files before you upgrade.

                    So go to the files upgrade, in the includes folder is your existing config.php, make a copy, and put the copy on the 3.7.4 online overwriting the config.php there.

                    The source code of vBulletin is not encrypted, it's visible source. So I have no clue what you're talking about.

                      I did so

                      But I'm in the config.php file encryption and a worker named Shifter

                      After that I did update to version 3.7.4
                      Set config.php file, who was in the old version

                      But stopped Forum

                      I hope my understanding is that

                        heres a tip when upgrading

                        1. always download a backup first
                        2. if ur upgrading from 3.7.x to another version thats 3.7.x then when all files are uploaded delete config.php.new and keep the old config.php it should work fine.

                          You mean the old config.php to work with the new version

                          Must delete the old folder Forum to act first?

                            Upgrade instructions summery

                            * Close the forum
                            * Backup the .sql database and the forum files
                            * Download and unpack the 3.7.4 files
                            * Remove config.php.new from 3.7.4 /includes/ since you can use the old one from 3.6.x and 3.7.x
                            * Upload the 3.7.4 files, overwriting the files online (don't resume, don't skip)
                            If you have custom images you can skip the images/ directory
                            * Run upgrade.php from the browser (yoursite.com/forum/install/upgrade.php)
                            * Follow all the upgrade steps until you end up in the admincp after deleting the install.php and upgrade1.php files.
                            * You can open the forum again after testing that everything went ok.

                            And you're done.
