I currently now have enter several things :
4 profile fields must be entered to post and view the forum.
Randon question that reguards to the software I support so no 2 questions are back to back. aka no spam mod at vb.org.
Captcha is turned on plus I have email verification on as well.
I requested a mod that you have to enter your email address to continue registration what this will do is slow down the process but not stop it or they may say too much work etc.... So enter a email verify it to continue to register then normal registration. Plus verify registration by activating from your email. Like I said not a stopper but with what I have plus that it could hinder them a bit more.Comment

They have been to my sites today but can't get in. I also upgraded my No Spam mod yesterday to this one http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=183329 . Hadn't had any problems since. Keeping an eye out though.Comment

Would be great if we could get an update on whats being done (if anything) to counter this ? All 3 of my forums have all of a sudden been flooded with registrations...and with all the uncertainty with the posts in this thread, it seems like nothing is helping.
If we could just get a list of things that DOES work, that would be great.Last edited by mikeinjersey; Thu 2 Oct '08, 11:24am.Comment

I've been getting a flood of them over the past couple of days too. I've tried switching to reCapta and that didn't slow them down. I've switched over to Q and A and we shall see if that helps.
Hopefully vBulletin figures out what the heck they are doing and sets up a patch. It has been crazy lately.Comment

Its a tough job, but works better than turning member moderation on, which I find just as repulsive as well..Comment

I have been relatively quiet today with only a few spammers trying to join that I nixed quickly. Real users are being moderated, and they got in. I have not seen any spammers since this morning on the east coast.
Mine is a very quiet forum with small daily input. BUT, it is school related and our member are teachers so porn (the one that did post to be moderated) is a threat to my well being.Comment
