Unless some law is passed to make ensure these spammers have to pay thousand bucks for each and every spam message posted in forums/spam email sent, they are just going to keep doing it. Or maybe we should form a some sort of vigilante group to take down the websites of the spammers to ensure it is simply not worth the trouble to go and spam.

that law already exists in my country (Belgium) it is illegal to spam or distribute any unwanted advertising most countrys have a lame law enforcement structure (Russia for example) they won't act even if you can proof a crime.

You don't, you sue the Cafe. Well, in theory it sounds nice at least.

You can enter html for the Q&A question, html for an image.

The image displays 4 objects, one of which is out of place.

Q: [html for for image here] One of these things is not like the other. What is the name of the thing that does not belong?

                A: dog

(Image shows 3 fruits and a dog)

If they get past that it's a human spammer.

Couple this with a plugin that disallows links if they don't have say 25 posts, and blocks the submission then even if they are human spammers they won't cause any disruptions with adult image spam.

If the kid is running a porn site or online drug store then why not? It is not about getting the small manual spammers but the people who actually use them to promote their businesses.

So, if somebody from your forum spams me, can I sue you?

                    Just kidding.

You need to ask decent questions.

Though like I said in a different thread, I am using Recaptcha on different sites and haven't had a single spam registration. One site is just sitting wide open (not even using the latest version) and uses recaptcha for human verification with no issues today.
I am using reCAPTCHA and I did not get hit by the massive spam attack either.

We switched to reCAPTCHA after the attacks began. So far it is holding up. It appears the spammers left our site to concentrate on easier targets.

I just signed up for reCAPTCHA. I hope it works. We've been getting a couple hundred new spammers a day.
