How to edit "Welcome to the (Site Name)."

How do I edit/remove this?

It is a phrase (actually, two separate phrases). To find the " If this is your first visit" one, go to Admin CP > Languages & Phrases > Search in Phrases and enter " If this is your first visit" and then leave Phrase Text Only checked and hit Find. Then you can hit the link to Edit that phrase. Do similar for the "Welcome to" phrase.
