Security Tokens and other problems

This has happening to me to.

New registered users, and regular members sometimes are getting Security Token missing or something.

Help please.

I have followed all of those steps, the problem is still occuring.

Apparently it is possible, as I have followed all of those instructions and a few users are still reporting problems.

As I said, this was working fine on 3.7.2 before, even with our mods and custom skins. Not one single problem. This started happening after I upgraded to PHP 5, so there's either an issue with vB and PHP 5.2.6 or there's something in my php.ini that wasn't there before that is causing this problem. I think for some reason, pages are being cached somewhere, resulting in outdated security tokens, but it's never been a problem for users before, they've cleared their cache to help try to resolve it, and I'm even sending out no-cache headers. I think it might be some sort of server-side caching or something. I just need ideas on what it can be and how to resolve it.

Two things you said could cause this....

You said there was "layout changes" to your skins, this could cause it as far as I'm concerned.
the PHP upgrade.....check your php.ini file, if you can't figure out the issue, then contact your webhost.

1. It happens with the default skin

2. It's an unmanaged dedicated server so the host won't be much help. I'm very capable of managing it myself, but there is some setting in there I don't know about that seems to be causing it.

Those two statements contradict each other, if it's unmanaged, it isn't a dedicated server.

Get a new host.

How so? There is a such thing as unmanaged dedicated servers, and they're a lot cheaper. I take care of all software issues, they handle hardware and network issues that are their problem.

Anyways, I'm not here to argue semantics, I'm here to get my forum to work properly.

Why the hell does that matter? Software problems with the server are my responsibility, I'm OK with that, and I don't need you to argue with me. All I want is some help figuring out what is wrong with my vB install or PHP configuration, and not an argument over how much help my host should be giving me with my server. If you can't help me with the issue at hand, then please, don't post in my thread.

Well if it's YOUR responsibility, then you should be able to fix said problems now shouldn't you?

Anyway, I would check php.ini first, maybe posting it here would help us figure out what's wrong with your 'install'.

What's the URL to your site? Honestly I have never seen that error on a site that is not running third party add-ons or modified templates. Nor do I see how that is possible since it is clearly impossible to get the error with the default vB code.
