    Post Reporting Discussion Forum Not Working

    I'm trying to use the feature which creates a thread for every reported post. However, when a post is reported, no thread is created. The title of the thread does appear as the forumbit's "Last Post", shown as being created by the correct user at the correct time. Clicking directly on this thread title takes you to the "No Thread specified." standard error. Once again, the thread does not appear in the forum listing, nor on the user's recent posts.

    To troubleshoot, I have tried sending these reports to multiple forums, to be reported by a variety of users (even my administrator account), all with the same results. What should I do next?

    This works for me:

    Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Infractions & Post Reporting Options -> Post Reporting Discussion Forum

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

    Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

      Hi Steve,

      Unfortunately, I do still have the same problem. I deleted all of the files in my forum directory (with the exception of config.php, modified to disable the plugin system as you suggested) and re-uploaded fresh new copies of all the files, but the issue persists.

      I should also note that, since I originally posted this thread, I disovered that reported pictures and visitor profile messages create threads in the specified forum, exactly as expected.

        I do not see how this can be with the original vB code and if the settings are corcect. If you really have totally removed your add-ons, then fill out a support ticket at:

        Please include a complete description of the problem and be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP, phpMyAdmin and FTP in the 'Sensitive Data' field.
