Thumbnail linked images?

Is there a setting that I'm missing that will thumbnail linked images (the ones using the "img" tag)?

Or do I need to do something like a "screenshot" bbcode?

I'd love for linked images to work just like local images, showing a thumbnail, and then popping up in the LightBox viewer...

In the attachment menu there is a slot for putting url's. Try that.

Well, that "works", but not really. People are wanting to link images that are larger than what I allow to be uploaded. And all what you've suggested does is perform an "upload" from a location other than your PC.
