    Character set problem (perhaps)

I am experiencing the exact same problem as the fellow in this thread, but I thought it best to start a new thread for it rather than piggyback. Anyways a Hungarian member of mine just let me know that when she puts in a special character (such as an accented vowel) her post or PM cuts off right before the first of such characters, the rest is lost. I tried it and she's right, I can't even enter in a British pound symbol. I went over all the possible fixes in this thread and nothing works. The Hungarian member claims the special characters were working before our recent upgrade to 3.7 (we also had our sql upgraded from 4 to 5, we lost all our avatars in that). We're on 3.7.1 pl 2.

ANY idea what I can try? I know it's not vital that the forum display special characters but it would be nice.

You say you already checked everything in my thread so I don't have anything else to offer.
We can take a look if you submit a trouble ticket with your forum and server info:

I appreciate the reply. I may submit a ticket, then.

Update: changing my HTML character set to "UTF-8" seems to have worked. I thought the default one (ISO-8859-1 I think it was) was right, but apparently not.

THANK YOU! I was wondering about that after reading this thread, but didn't think to try it where the ISO line was!

          Fixed! You are the man.
