Okay this is a weird one. Overnight last night I had my server upgrade my PHP from 4 to 5 and my SQL from 4 to 5. When it was done all the avatars were broken. (Yes I tried clearing my cache/restarting the browser and creating a style with no parent etc.) I re-uploaded mine and then it was fine. I had the avatars on the database so I moved them to the server, nothing. Since they were on the server I downloaded a few of them onto my computer to look at them. Mine was fine but the rest are "not valid GIF files".
Having my members re-upload their avatars works fine and all, but even then more than half of the posts on my forum are going to have broken avatars on them, from users who are no longer active. Is there ANY way to repair these corrupted/whatever files? I tried a couple programs that say they fix corrupted GIFs but nothing.
Thanks for any advice. I understand if nothing at all can be done. This 3.7 is neat but it's really done a number on me. Oh, and my forum.
OH, and if the files got corrupted during the SQL upgrade, is it possible anything else might have been corrupted? Anything I should be looking for? Everything SEEMS fine, but I'm all paranoid about it now.
