Hi there,
My dedicated servers (1 for database, 1 for Apache) are currently running on MySQL 4.1.22 (with PHP 5.2.5, 4 Gigs of RAM, Dual Intel Quad Xeon processors, and the latest versions of Apache, CentOS, etc.). Our vBulletin gets around 500 concurrent users during non-peak times, and around 1000 concurrent users at peak. Our load at non-peak is typically around the 0.2-0.3 mark, but at peak, we can sometimes spike up to 0.6.
Someone recently suggested that we should upgrade to MySQL 5. Are there any benefits to upgrading to MySQL 5? What are the risks/dangers of using MySQL 5 over MySQL 4.1.22? Will vBulletin handle queries better?
What do you recommend?
Thanks for your thoughts!
