Question: Where are posts "stored?"

Where do posts "go" when they are posted?

I want to know, so that I could make backups by grabbing my vb files from my server via FTP program. Or do I really need to know my server info just to get backups from the database?

I want to make backups onto my computer (and then make copies by storing them into a storage medium, i.e. CD's, DVD's, external HDD), and not just on my server.

Posts are stored in the post table in the database. You need to make a backup of your database. This is the recommended and most reliable backup method:

Then you can download the backup file from your server if you want a local copy.
