Forum to Main Page News How to?

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to do this Http://www.mmo-champion.com

if you look on there main page, There news post are updated to there main page. with links to the forum post, I was wondering how one would go about doing that, and also another option for just a link to it without the text for a sidebar?

I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking at on that page. Can you please post and image pointing out what you are talking about.
