Install not getting past first step

Trying to install 3.6.8, but it won't go past the step where I enter the license number. I click "next step" but all it does it reload the page.

I know the license (owned) is expired. I don't have to renew to install, do I?

Are you installing 3.6 or vB2 as you've also posted over there too...

If you can only post in the forum applicable to the version you're having problems with, it will be easier to provide support

Thank you for reply and sorry for confusion I started installation of the vB2X because I just love this version of vB but due to the usercp error I decided to install the vB3 and I got the above errors.

Most it is because you are running vBulletin 3.6.x on php 5.3+. If you downgrade to php 5.2.x you should be good. Just tell your host your would like to be on a server with php 5.2.x.

If you want php 5.3.x support you'll need to upgrade to 3.8.5 or 4.0.x.

This was already answered:

Most it is because you are running vBulletin 3.6.x on php 5.3+. If you downgrade to php 5.2.x you should be good. Just tell your host your would like to be on a server with php 5.2.x.

That's true. I installed the latest WAMPSERVER here that uses PHP 5.3 and I get the same errors of depression with vBulletin 3.6. Yet vB 3.7 and higher is fine.
