As I know, you have to purchase vBulletin 4 forums license and then you can choose to use in version 3.8 instead of version 4.

I was just wondering if I could only pay for the upgarde of the 3.X, mainly because I'm not sure yet I want to use vB4 and it seems silly to pay so much to get only "small" upgrade I could have gotten for 30$ few weeks ago... but since I lost the train I now have to pay much more for something I'm not sure I want yet.
