Server move -> Search not working

    Hello,

We recently moved www.Team-BHP.com to a new hosting company.

    1. We are using the "full text" search engine option.

    2. I asked the host to enable three character searches on the database. The same was done via:

I added this ability to '/etc/my.cnf'
    3. From "Update counters", I rebuilt the entire search engine.

Yet, the search engine is nowhere as accurate. For instance, a forum search on GTO shows only 18 matches, while the same on BMW shows only 31. There are atleast thousands for each search term.

What am I missing out here?

    Thanks for the help.

You need to run a repair on the post table, that should recreate the indexies. The rebuild counter in the admincp is fro the vBulletin internal search

      Hi Zachery,

Thanks. Just did a repair + optimise on "vb3_search". It's only 826.9 KB in size (for a board with 1.3 Million posts). Importantly, the search results haven't changed! Still shows only 18 results for GTO when there are atleast 3000 more. What's up?

EDIT : Just saw your post. Rebuilt the post table as well as all the others. Still of no avail.

Full text does not use the vB search index. I would change back to the vB default search, then back to full text again. That will force it to redo the indexes.

Something weird happening since the server move. Thought I'd post it in this thread itself.

Receiving a TON of the following database error emails (think 3,000 similar per day). However, the forum itself is working just fine (including attachments).

              What's up?

              Database error in vBulletin v.xxx:

              Invalid SQL:
              INSERT INTO vb3_attachmentviews (attachmentid)
              VALUES (107193);

This is a server issue. You'll need to contact your host about this. Here are the reasons for the MySQL server going away:

Thanks Steve. Having my host look into this issue.
