    Internet Explorer 8

I have a few problems with IE8 at the moment.

Most of them are down to the style I have installed.

But one isn't. The Quick Reply button behaves like the Quote button.

It does this even in the default style, I thought it was because I'm still running 3.6.7, but 3.6.12 does it too (at vbulletin.org)

I have been putting off upgrading because of the amount of customising I have to do again after each upgrade.

Can anybody confirm that the QR button works in later versions using IE8?

    TIA

I am seeing this "quick reply" behavior with IE8 in vBulletin 3.6.x as well.

Does anyone know why this is happening or what the solution is?

The original poster says that it's happening at vBulletin.org too - do they have a thread about this? It's hard to find threads about "IE 8" because the search doesn't like such short phrases.

Same here on one of our forums, quick reply has a black bold border and sometimes 'return' is misinterpreted as 'blank'

Thanks for any hint, workaround or fix.

      Code:
      <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
^This one helps in headinclude, but maybe there is a vB template fix etc. instead activating IE8 quirks mode.

This solved the problem with IE8 for now (running vb 3.6.x)

        Thanks, Thomas!!

          Hi,

And what if I don't want to "emulate" IE7?

The "send IE7 header" is in the admincp.
ACP > vbulletin options > vbulletin options > cookies and HTTP options
3rd item from the bottom. No will disable the "send IE7 header". If you turn it off you may find some appearance items don't show or not work as they should.
I have a php file that shows a new background on page jumps or refreshes. Works fine in IE7 but is non functional in IE8. You may want to give it some thought before you turn it off.
