Post counts going down

I haven't pruned any posts or anything, members are losing thousands of posts from their post count. No one has been in the CP doing anything either.

Is there a way to fix this? Stop it from happening? A reason for it?

This does not happen with the default vB code. Either someone is deleting posts or changing the forum settings to not count posts in specific forums, or you have an add-on that is causing this.
